1. How would you describe yourself?
Generally, this is the 1st question from the interview. Keep the description to a maximum of 1-2 minutes. Sample Response: I have during the course of my professional career centered all my activities in becoming as good a financial consultant as I can become. Allow me to specifically tell you my activities leading up to here. I have completed undergraduate course in finance & accounting at _________ University. There after I have worked in the retail sector and also continued higher education. Higher education couple with work experience has prepared me well for this career.

2. What goals have you set for you to achieve in life related to your occupation?
Sample Response: I would ideally be wanting to work in an established & well reputed organization like yours where in I am managing information. I would contribute by the way of my leadership, technical skills and enduring commitment to give my 100% at all times. In the long term my goal is to be counted as the best information systems technician in the company I work for. That my skills & experience benefit my company in achieving desired results.

3. What has been the contribution of your college experience in preparing you for a business career?
Sample Response: Throughout my college period I have taken up activities which gave me real-world experience through the means of internship, travel abroad, and entrepreneurial opportunities. I traveled to Ecuador to take up internship with a private organization where I learnt a lot about a new culture, as part of my work I prepared a 12-page marketing plan that recommended better ways the company market its products. I had the opportunity to travel abroad on 2 other occasions, one being to India to study the festival of Holi and also participated din a total language immersion program in Costa Rica. My resume will show that I have interests in academics, extracurricular programs, and I have an experiential background, I'm always ready to take up fair means to achieve success as a marketing professional.

4. Why did you leave your last job?
Sample Response: Here your response should be to tell the recruiter "That you are committed to this field and job?" You should not say anything negative or derogatory about your former employer. Rather speak about a good reason for your decision to change the job. It might be you wanting a more challenging job, you want to move to be closer to your family, you lost your job as a result of downsizing in your former organization, etc.

5. Why did you opt to choose this field as a career?
Sample excellent response: From the time I starting undergoing education for my undergraduate degree I enjoyed the thought of being able to sell a product or service. I'm fully confident that once I am well versed with the inside-out of the product I can approach people I am unfamiliar to and convince them that they need my product. Since I have the confidence of speaking to people about various things I know achieve my goals. If there ever is a profession based on self-determinism, then it has to be sales.

6. Why should I hire you?
Sample excellent response: I have through experience learnt the difference between confidence and being over-confident. Having traveled to different parts of the world I learnt to be humble to people but I aggressively pursue my objectives, so when I set out to market a product, goods or services I know how to convince people about the quality and benefits of I have to offer them. I have great motivation and that I already buy your company's products therefore I think I fit well into this organization.

7. Speak about your strengths and weaknesses
Sample excellent response: My strengths lie in being able to perform to optimum levels at any given time. I am motivated about my work and I relish a challenge, I view competition not as a hurdle but as a means for proving my abilities and achieving the goals of my company. I have considerable experience working as a team member and aiding in achieving results pre-set goals. My weakness is that I do not entertain lackluster performances.

8. What do you consider to be the most important aspects of your job?
Sample excellent response: I would always be forthcoming on issues where my skills or experience can benefit the company or any of its employees. I would want to help others in which ever way I can both professionally and on a personal level if needed. I would aim to create a conducive work environment where each person can perform to his/her best and be motivated to achieve company goals. Overall I would also like to be recognized for these efforts.
